Baltimore Hosts Globetrotters

The Harlem Globetrotters 2012 World Tour swung through Charm City on Friday, December 30, 2011. The event featured a number of special touches including a salute to the military, national recording artist Loree Montgomery Slye and a special presentation to 4 Star General Kip Ward (Ret.) for his outstanding community service. Old School Invitational

Over 40 golf enthusiasts enjoyed the splendor of Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold, MD for an historic day of fellowship and fun. The day started crisp and clear with excitement in the air! Walking to the clubhouse the first view was a beautiful black Mercedes perched regally on the 18th hole. Four holes were designated "Hole in 1" opportunities with prizes which included a continental air trip and other prizes. Upon registration each golfer was provided a E3 Swag Bag which contained coupons, a certificate for a $200 Warrior club and of course chocolate for that anticipated "course lag" :). Bay Hills Golf Club provided a continental breakfast and fresh coffee to get everyone ready for the links!

Tournament Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd

The day began with opening comments by Dr. Mel Butler, Master Consultant. He stated, "This is a humbling experience to see so many friends of so many years." Many of the entrants were from the illustrious Alumni Chapter of the  Pershing Rifles group of Morgan State University. The field also included celebrities, business executives, lawyers, and military officers. The tournament was coed and included a variety of mini competitions to make the day more enjoyable!

After nearly 5 hours of putts, drives, wedges, and the occasional tree or water shot everyone was ready for lunch and the awarding of prizes. Kudos to Natalie Brookman and her staff for the wonderful spread of food and beverages made available. This was followed by awarding of team trophies, special community service awards and recognition of individual achievements during the event.
